I didn’t realize it for a long, long time… I was the creator of the hold anxiety had upon me.

I didn’t recognize how destructive my behaviour was because I thought it was normal.

Are you constantly worrying that something terrible is going to happen?

Do you have trouble breathing, relaxing, or sleeping?

Do you feel guilty or anxious when you’re not working?

Have you stopped having fun with friends or may not have many intimate relationships at all?

Do all of your daily activities revolve around building a more successful career?

Are you sleeping fewer than eight hours per night?

Are you consuming stimulants like caffeine multiple times per day to hide your exhaustion?

Are you sitting still and staring at screens for most of your waking hours?

Do you interact with people primarily through screens?

Are you indoors all day long, depriving yourself of fresh air and sunlight?

Do you depend on alcohol or drugs to cope with social situations?

If you said ‘Yes’ to most of those questions, you are not alone. When I was at my worst, I was doing all of these things on a daily basis.

As a result, I was emotionally crippled by debilitating anxiety for a long time. I talk about what it felt like in this podcast episode: https://calmlivingblueprint.com/1/

I tried EVERYTHING to get myself back to calm and happiness…

The key turning point was when I had my first big mental shift.

I started viewing life as a game and the world as my playground.

The way in which I approach the world determines how the world responds to me. Am I coming to it from a place of fear and worry? Or a place of love, joy and fun?

What if life is a series of opportunities to experience and give love? To experience joy, fun, and happiness? And the people in it are our playmates?
What if you start to view the world around you like this? Are you willing?

Consider this:

What we feel we are not receiving from the world is often what we are withholding from it.

Let that sink in.

I can tell you that was true for me…. how could I ever expect the world to engage with me if I was not engaging fully in the world?

If you haven’t done so already, check out lesson two where I go into this in more detail:
